Spend the day at a friends', installed him a beefy af CPU cooler (someone else he knew installed the super thin Wraith on a 3950X...overheating was a constant issue) and we then went to play some Yu-Gi-Oh! at a card shop. It was genuely fun to pick up my cards again, been a while. ^^

Nice! I've never played hieratic, but I always use one or two of their cards in my dragon deck
It's fun - but genuely slow nowadays. Also, it's resilience to recovery is /awful/ XD. If you played through your hand, your best bet is to just Dragon's Mirror into FGD. GY recycle is non-existent... I haven't found a good partner engine to fix that problem yet. o.o But I still love it, it was my goto in 2012/13 and won me a bunch of locals! ^-^
I'm not much of an expert when it comes to Hieratic, but I think there could be some good synergy with the Bystial engine.
The Bystials could use the Hieratic light monsters as fodder to special summon themselves. They would also enable a small chaos engine, being mostly dark monsters.
