Soooooooo 2015-2020 Cadillac CTS 2.0T
Sure it’s the base trim, but think about what you get:
- Cadillac, luxurious, comfortable
- Relatively new car
- under $15,000
- similar performance to an Accord 2.0T stock
- common GM engine known to reach up to 500hp
- rear wheel drive
The only downsides I see are that it’s automatic only, and the infotainment is outdated. The thing is, for me, it’s basically the perfect purchase.
I don’t have a car, I have been daily riding my motorcycle. I have been holding off on getting a car because I want something fun. I was gonna get a 335i, which would probably be better, but I’ve been totally obsessed with Cadillacs since I found out about the CT4-V Blackwing.
The CTS 2.0t technically doesn’t compete with the 335i, but the 328i (well the 528i). The V6 is the comparable motor, but the V6 in the CTS is naturally aspirated. It’s easier to make more power with the 2.0t. There is also a CTS V-Sport, which has a detuned ATS-V twin turbo V6, but those are rare and expensive. That’s what I would get because it’s basically the same engine as what’s in the CT4-V Blackwing.
However, the 2.0t is still a good purchase. It’s basically a rear wheel drive, luxury Accord 2.0t for less money. Won’t be as reliable but apparently they aren’t bad. If you build it, you could beat scatpacks.
