Which do you value more: the freedom to speak without concern for surveillance, or the security offered by encrypting your notes with public and private keys that you can’t change ?
Discussion
Tough but I guess my initial response is the former
A worthwhile question to consider is: Where are you truly free to speak without concern for surveillance? All technological systems can be pwned by interested parties. This isn’t an argument against taking steps to harden comms, but just highlighting what errors thinking in absolutes can lead to.
A)
the former takes behavior change from others, and that doesn't work.
But if you only feel free to speak when not surveilled then where is the freedom to speak at all.
what sort of security are you seeking for nostr. I am sure we can build something or find people that can
Would argue that both are equally aligned
Don't see how these are opposite things. You can use your keys to encrypt the content of your notes or create walled gardens.
