Hmm ๐Ÿค” I thought thatโ€™s what #hashtags on here are for IDK ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Either way: seems to me the like unlike button has been replaced with zaps โšก๏ธ though I may be misunderstanding. Gen

People on Reddit have various opinions on what the up:down vote means anyway. Purists like me always believed it was to be used for โ€œ anything that adds to the conversation โ€œ but others abused it by separating others and dog piling people they didnโ€™t like. ๐Ÿ‘

Always been #fuckthesystem though so it is what it is. The good thing is #Reddit is burning ๐Ÿ”ฅ down ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hashtags would totally work with an upvote/downvote system, that's the hard part because on nostr it's hard to separate real votes from spam votes

We really donโ€™t hate #AI enough

People who fight technology have never won. Ever.

The solution to spam is web of trust which nostr is built around. Easy peasy.

People that fight technology often won. There are hundred of tech that disappeared in thin air. Only few, commonly accepted tech survived.

Name one.

Are you talking to me? If so, I donโ€™t understand your question ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

#slowstitching my way to #peace was one way to fight against #technology โ€ฆ & helps spirt stay alive

That didnโ€™t disappear, that was replaced. Not the same thing at all. Technology advances, itโ€™s not about people pushing back. You canโ€™t put a genie back in a bottle once itโ€™s out. You can, however, render it obsolete.

Electric cars.

Yeah we have a shitty version today of them, but the technology is from the 1830s and it got suppressed and banned in the 1940s.

Then in the 80s I think, some company made some, was forced by the USA Government to recall and destroy them.

It wasn't until Elon Musk paid the bribes and provided an electric car that was inferior to petrol that USA finally allowed the technology again.

That and China starting to develop their own.

Whenever a monopoly exists tech gets suppressed.

In that case it was the oil barrons behind it.

What is advancement for you is not for me. Mobile phones for example are a total loss. Piece of trash with 2-3 years of life that makes people addicted. Advancement in what direction. I was one of the first to have a mobile in the 90's and I am one of the first to reclaim the right to go around without a phone claiming back the right to be out of reach. At the same time I am just buying 80's and 90's tech that I can repair and will last other 40 years at least.
