You think that divorce is such an awful thing that everybody should try to be virgins on their wedding days and have no more than 1 sex partner per lifetime?

Okay. Lots of Puritans believe that. They thinks that's an ideal world. They have at various times in history invented and implemented brutal punishments for people violating the one-sex-partner-per-lifetime rule.

Normal humans look at how unbelievably miserable Puritan life is for most people choose to have more natural and much more healthy sex lives. If you want to have 1 or 0 sex partners that is clearly your choice and we'll be happy to accept that, but you trying to impose that idiocy on the rest of us because you think all divorce needs to be stamped out, then... sorry, we're going to fight against that.

Over the last 10-20 years American young adults aged 14-24 have been having less sex than ever. They are dating less than ever. They are also reporting far more depression than ever. They are killing themselves at rates never before seen. There is a massive mental health crisis among these lonely sexless young people. You seem to think this is a good thing. I do not. Our entire approach to raising sons and daughters and the entire way we interact with our young adults is failing them miserably. We created a huge problem. We fucked up really bad. You may believe that they just need to make sure they have no sex until marriage. I disagree. I think that sexual frustration is making everything worse. I think that fear of sex, fear of catching some kind of trauma from sex, is keeping them from living happy lives.
