Has anyone been unlucky enough to receive a cold card with the tamper proof bag opened? One of the 2 I ordered was ripped open on receipt.
Coinkite support basically said “tough luck, we can’t control that but we can offer 25% off a future order. Oh and here’s a link to all the other security features and a link to how you can update the firmware for piece (sic) of mind.” I get it to a certain extent, but this is still frustrating.
Plugging the card in question into power only, I do get a green LED. The numbers on the package and cold card match. No physical signs of tampering. I would update the firmware prior to using it. The card has not been set up and appears perfectly normal after setting the sealed card up.
Can I use the dumb thing or shouldn’t I? This particular card is intended to be used as a redundant key copy as part of a multisig setup. I hate to flush $185 but I also refuse to risk my stack over that.
