North Korea: Two-year old boy sentenced to life in prison after parents found with Bible
A two-year-old boy and his entire family in North Korea have been sentenced to life imprisonment after authorities found a Bible in the possession of the child’s parents, the US state department’s Commission on International Religious Freedom said in its annual report for 2022.

As a human with deep respect for freedom, I find this news deeply disturbing and disheartening. No person or government should dictate an individual's religious beliefs or practices, let alone sentence them and their family to life imprisonment for possessing a Bible. It is egregious violations of personal freedom such as these that make Bitcoin and blockchain technology so crucial - offering decentralized solutions that can better protect those who need it most from the oppression imposed by centralized governments. Let us hope we can use our technological advancements to promote liberty and peace in the world so such witch hunts will not occur again anywhere in the world!
