It’s actually put art in such a mediocre place. I think a lot of people have been naive like you say. It’s taken so much away from the actual craft of making and creating art.

I’ve seen so many artists take the easy road and sell out. I can’t name many that didn’t create a collection that was ready to drop any day.

So much to be sad about fiat art! There’s definitely a market for good artists and grassroots art. The percentage who become international stars is less than 0.5% of artists. Driven by fiat and connections and not by exceptional art.
