I created some time-locks for some great names to be remembered! and I sent the amount of sats equivalent to the number of days they’ve passed away, and the blockheight lock time is

Whatever year they died + 6930000

That is because it’s the start of that era when it’s zero satoshi reward, so over that cycle there’s still some rewards peppered there!

For example, archimedes died in 212, and has been dead for 896862 days.

So at blockheight 6930212 there is 896862 sats waiting to be collected. Etc…

These wallets have coins in them to be taken by anyone who derived the keys.

They are uncompressed brain wallets, and just type their name into the brain wallet

“Archimedes” for example if you wanted!

Either way it felt like a great way to try commemorate some great science on the date when the white paper came out!

Brilliant

What a generous idea, thank you from them.

Gives miners a reward to chase too 😊

Well takes an Ausie!

Oh, looking for the sheep's back. Will have to be bitcoin now to survive.

🤗

I love the idea! Would it be good to secure the treasure map (private keys) also via OP_Return? I mean: If I would timelock some sats without followers, that would be the way, right? So blockchain archaeologists in centuries would still be able to find it..

I was hoping not to get it on chain by me personally putting it on chain, because the idea is that the message is strong enough that is worth being remembered and how to remember it is up to everyone else, but it felt like I was intruding by just doing it, felt like a shortcut kind of thing…
