It’s interesting that most animals learn bite tolerance if they’re socialised. They know what the limits are before play becomes dangerous.

It's also because they use their mouths to pick up their babies.

Hmm I’m not sure that’s innate though. I think it’s still part of the early stages of development. I remember reading a lot about this but I don’t recall the details tbh.
