I do believe you, I just can't find any documentation about it. Maybe you spotted a prototype. If you go there often, can you ask them what's it for?
I will. I'd assume it's for people who have biometric scans enabled in their (trusted) banking app. Seems to be a thing this year with pretty much any app from Binance to Banks. Everyone is offering biometric authentication.
