Just finished this little shelf for the kids toys. Not the prettiest, but it’s rock solid.
Cut the juniper trees at a friend’s ranch so his cattle would have more pasture to graze, then milled it at my neighbor’s.
Hopefully it’s a 7 generation piece for the family- just need to stain it
The breadbox in the 1st pic is a 5th generation hand-me-down that my great grandfather built.
We need to be building more things like that!

My neighbor bought a really nice one and upgraded it after a few days of running a makeshift chainsaw mill.
Those little Alaskan chainsaw guides are a good start for slabbing assuming you have a strong saw and ripping chain tho
I bought a cheap, cheap chainsaw mill online, just haven't had a chance to use it yet. I almost don't want to because of the huge kerf, but my policy on tools has always been "buy cheap and use it til it breaks or is so slow that it makes sense to upgrade." This fall/winter I may start tinkering with it anyway.
