Just watched the recent What Bitcoin Did with Odell, NVK, Harry and Pascel. I went in with an open mind knowing I dont like Ledger, but understanding that tradeoffs are always needed and that this new service could possibly suit some peoples use cases.
That being said, I was hugely unimpressed with what Pascel had to say and came away much more disturbed then I thought I would. I heard a lot of "company speak", talking about how the vast majority of people don't care about KYC, government seizure or privacy. He spoke about the 95% of people who don't use cold storage as if this gives Ledger the right to sell a centralized service that creates a massive honey pot for hackers and governments alike.
This really pisses me off. Society is very much in this horrible place right now because the majority chose to take the easy way out, chose to give up their power for what is safe and comfortable. This is not what Bitcoin is! Bitcoin is about taking back sovereignty and truth, its about teaching others why these things are important and how they can learn and grow stronger themselves. These are the lessons I will teach my children, not how someone else can keep them safe. We are the Remnant, and it doesn't matter what even the 99.9% are doing we will continue to do what is right, so that our children will be free and able flourish. We are going to win despite the Ledgers of this world.
