🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 well done Keith and Kuma!! Yes that is quite disturbing to do - I have done some of that IV stuff on animals before but never to the jugular.
Onwards to Tuesday!! 🫡🫡

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜️⬜️ 80%
~1000 miles driven thus far, ~32hrs of Chicago traffic.
Her leg veins weren't having it this week. So instead they put in a central line IV catheter.

So now I have to flush the catheters 3x a day to make sure no clots develop. It's FREAKY: I have to inject saline STRAIGHT INTO HER JUGULAR!!!! 👀🤢😫

It's a pretty safe procedure; apparently it would take 1ml+ of air to cause an embolism and I'm fussing to get rid of bubbles that are like 1/1000th that size.
But it's still stressful and gross and kind of disturbing to think about. At least Kuma doesn't seem to care and she's happy to get a treat after!
The hospital staff has been so sweet and continues to be wonderful.

After Tuesday she's done, catheters come out, most of the meds ramp down.

Good appetite, as always! The prednisone makes her hungrier and her eating schedule had to be shifted to 8am / 8pm to coincide with meds. She had been used to my sched of ~11am / 6pm. So she spends more of her waking hours hungry. ☹️
