Awesome 96 year old neighbor keeps dropping cukes on my patio, so I need ideas!
For a one quart jar. One clove of garlic, a bunch dill flowers, several black peppercorns , a leaf like bay laurel, oak or grape. And of course your cukes. About 5 per jar. For the brine: 1 tbsp of canning salt mixed in a half quart jar. Pour this in your pickle jar once you have everything in it. Put a lid on, not tight. Let it sit on the counter for 2 or so days. You can leave longer but i like to slow the ferment down by putting it in the fridge. It will take months to get really good. If you dont want to wait as long, you can leave it out longer on the counter. Up to 2 weeks ive heard
