The original lead developer is a nut job. I find it hard to trust Graphene OS.

You need to be a nut job to be paranoid enough to build GrapheneOS

Here is some info from wiki on CopperheadOS.

Disagreements between the two founders over business policy became increasingly heated over the first few months of 2018, and led to Donaldson firing Micay in June of that year.[17][18] Micay responded by posting his dismissal notice on Reddit, and by deleting the cryptographic keys necessary to release updates for the project.[17][19] Micay said that he considered "the company and infrastructure to be compromised", and that he would "prevent [Donaldson] from harming any users".[20] Copperhead failed to provide CopperheadOS updates for several months afterwards.[18] Micay continued the development of the open source parts of CopperheadOS as the Android Hardening project, which was later rebranded as GrapheneOS.[21] According to Donaldson, as of February 2019 he and Micay were in a legal dispute over the incident.[22]

I wouldnt use software from this unethical dev even if he is not working on the project anymore. who knows what he can still do.

Why do you consider him unethical?

Sabotage

Freedom fighter or terrorist is a matter of perspective though. Sabotaging a corrupt system is what we all do here if you ask the system...

I never said he was either of those things.

I know you didn't. It is a saying. But you said betrayal and that's just as strong, I'm saying these company internals are usually never this simple.

I was called a betrayer and ousted by the shitcoin team I worked with for revealing that the founder has misappropriated 10 ETH of funding. It's right there for everyone to see in Etherscan, yet nobody cared and I was booted. The kick that I needed to get into Bitcoin btw. I'm very happy how this turned out and my conscious is clean. But ask the right people and I'm literally Satan - actual slur used.

I never said “betrayal”. Not sure where you are getting this.

Sorry about the situation that happened to you. Sounds a bit different though from GrapheneOS issues.

Absolutely no need to feel sorry, it the best thing that could've happened. Otherwise I would still be a posterboy for a crypto scam. There was no need to kick me, I was already out the door when I realized what was going on. Then I FINALLY understood what Bitcoin is. Physically manifested integrity.

Yes SABOTAGE it was, I don't know how where I got 'betrayal' from. The story must've unfolded in my mind, Donaldson surely felt betrayed and sabotaged. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth, sorry, my bad.
