And i have never understood why almost every time i express any distaste for the fairytales i was told as a kid, there’s someone stretching the definition of God as if it will corner me into believing that i must believe in an almighty creator

Meanwhile if you check with religious devotees they’ll likely tell you there are strict guidelines to follow if you wish to avoid burning in hell for all of eternity

It’s all a bit too much for my mortal retarded brain, i just live a decent life with my own moral compass. Some of that is indubitably passed on to me by the stories written in the Bible and other supposedly sacred texts, but that doesn’t prove they are anything more than really old books

Pls forgive me. I’ll get the punishment i deserve if i’m wrong for all this caring about my fellow humans and the beautiful world we inhabit, and other ungodly things

That’s a very western/Catholic/evangelical interpretation of the afterlife. I subscribe to the Eastern / Orthodox interpretation… which IMHO is far more sane and reasonable.

IOW I don’t buy into that strict guidelines bullshit. Unravelling the mysteries of God isn’t that black and white..

See that’s what i mean. You subscribe to your version. Others have other versions. If anyone’s right about it all, it’s very few. Maybe it’s those mormons who think there’s exactly 144k slots available for heaven after all 🤔

Oops i meant jehovah’s witnesses

Historically and Liturgically speaking the Orthodox Church was the first - hence its name “Orthodox- straight line doxology”.

And JWs are a cult. Period.

Well look at that, we do agree on something 😂🥳🫂
