Of all the new exercises I started recently, standing calf raises are the most dangerous.

They're deceptively easy to do, then 2 days later you can barely walk and going down stairs becomes quite hazardous.

Do them while walking up stairs 🫠 it’s an auch!

I was never able to had that effect on my calf, maybe because I walk a lot everyday?

Thanks for the warning!

Yeah, if you keep on doing that consistently over a longer period of time, your calf muscles will be damn strong and you will be having much more stability and mobility. go slow.

Hahaha I hear you - sane with squats!! Lactic acid build up is a bitch! 🤣💪

reduce weight or reps

or cool the calves after training to stop some inflammation

one time this cute physical trainer at the gym got me doing calf raises to my absolute limit. the rest of the week i was walking like a cowboy and standing up slower than a centenarian 🤣

it was actually really tough to get off the bus in time

Low-bar squats (from Starting Strength) seems to incorporate calves and quads better than any other lift I've come across.

Make damn sure you stretch your hamstrings every day. Otherwise those calf raises will reduce your mobility.

Cuidado con la tensión.

No viste nunca saltar la cuerda de un laúd?

Bingo.
