Trusting Luke as the sole engineer of your #Bitcoin implementation is different than than putting all your faith in Vitalik how?

So I trust the core devs?

👇🏽

Well, for starters, Luke has been consistently right about most things in Bitcoin, while Vitalik has spent the last 10 years making all the wrong calls - only to recently admit he screwed up almost every step of the way. That said, none of this is a reason to blindly trust Luke or anyone else.

But circling back to the current situation: some of the newer Core maintainers are now proposing changes to client features that have been part of Bitcoin since 2014 - features with a near-perfect track record of efficiency. That alone should raise serious concerns, alarm bells, and doubt in the minds of anyone with two brain cells.

Plus Luke’s not the sole engineer of Knots. This implementation is 99% Core mirror, not something built from scratch by a single person.

Well... We aren't going to he'll if we just follow Luke's guidance.

Still running Core.

Still supporting Libre Relay.

Still want Knots to keep going.

To be fair, Vitalik has more influence over consensus rules than Luke.
