Progressivism needs a revamp. A return to revolutionary, forward thinking, change-making.

Economically literate, not performative for the sake of performance.

Anti-war, anti-corruption and anti-authoritarians (be it government or corporate)

The problem is the dems have an unstoppable and undemocratic machine that crushes populists voices. If they had allowed sanders to run against trump he would have won in 2016. But unfortunately it’s all about control for them.

Yup. That’s why people outside the political party need to just be the change they want to see in the world and run on a progressive message whether Dems like it or not.

Most progressives I know aren’t in “the party” anymore.

Do you know any who still support free speech? Because I personally don’t. I haven’t run into a liberal from my youth in a long time. The type who would say I hate what you say, but I will defend with my life your right to say it. Those were good people and fine Americans and I miss them greatly. Perhaps they are still around and just lack the courage to speak up, but I haven’t seen one in a long time.

Still around for sure, just not the media darlings of today. I know SO many that are just politically homeless and silent behind the scenes. Hell, I’d argue Trump has some progressives around him (Tulsi for instance).

More are coming out now though that the Dems lost and the left is growing tired of the same ol’ bullshit.

I mean many of them just need to learn more about bitcoin too, I’m not kidding. Once you learn bitcoin, you also learn WHY free speech and privacy are so important, how energy and grids work (to stop the bullshit environmental arguments against bitcoin) etc.

I’m hoping to have some of those people get it. We’ll see. I know they know what’s been tried before isn’t working. And a new progressive movement that gets bitcoin isn’t going to look like the democrat (or republican) parties of today. It will be rejected by the status quo I’m sure.

Bitcoin flows towards people who desire freedom, independence, and free trade without centralized controls. The current "progressives" generally don't fit that label so they won't get it until much later.

But that's actually a good thing, because when rebuilding a strong economic foundation you don't want a high percentage of the wealth in the hands of socialists and communists. Bad ideas lead to bad outcomes, Bitcoin is a good outcome, and that's why people with bad ideas won't understand it.

Jimmy Dore used to be pretty with it on that subject

The deviation into the current insanity is why I drifted away from the left. Especially the economic denialism and illiteracy.

That just sounds like libertarian, not progressive
