While I love the free nature of most things software and Internet, maybe we need to come up with a value4value Satoshi split system. Much like nostr:npub1qx6kgzfm3z5qlffxnunsgnsaagwcxt6klx6q7gry56arj5r0yl3qgkqf4d has done with podcasting 2.0 using keysend
It could be a browser extension that sends splits to every service that your user.
You the user world have full control over how much good where with the option for not paying at all and for boosting additionally if you should desire.

This is a serious problem. All of the security issues with SSL (Heartblead, etc.) over the past decade were because there was only one guy maintaining it.
It seems like a non-profit would work well here. There are tons of industry organizations that have a vested interest in technology that should be willing and able to support it. Maybe there are just too many devs to support? Or maybe, as the article hints, the real problem isn't money. It's the fact that these people have zero organizational support to back them up, and tend to get burnt out.
