not all and silly to assume. the early crowd will typically only talk to people who have been around as long as they have.

the new crowd like me will try to engage with those people will hardly get a response. the social dynamics work like the school cafeteria in an elementary school. cool kids, popular kids, in criws, etc.

every single person has to work their way up unless they are already well known when they come here.

I don’t think it’s as much about social dynamics, but more for practical reasons. Once you’ve spent a good amount of time here, you’ve likely already curated a good follow list that’s decent enough to sustain your swiping needs on a daily basis. It’s not perfect but the marginal utility of following more people is lower. You’ll go out of your way for a really interesting person but otherwise it’s unnecessary.

I don’t blame anyone. It’s just how it is.

if we zoom out, x still has a large portion of that population. they are the early crowd, the in crowd that most will want to join.
