🌿 Cannabis was never “new” in India.
It was in the Atharva Veda as a sacred plant. It was in Ayurveda as medicine. It was in our villages as rope, oil, and ritual. It was in our festivals as bhang, inseparable from Shiva.
Then came the colonials.
They taxed it. They pathologized it. They built stigma into law. And in 1985, under global pressure, India criminalized its own heritage.
Today, the West parades “legal cannabis” as innovation. They raise billion-dollar industries off the same plant they stripped from us. They sell our soul back to us with a new label and a price tag.
History’s truth is simple:
What they outlawed in Indian hands, they celebrate in their own.
