I wouldn't hate it so much if not for these reasons:

• It was basically forced onto Linux distros and its users by IBM through its Red Hat subsidiary, when better init options existed (and still exist).

• The Jewman faggot responsible for creating it wasn't a fucking prick.

• Application dependencies on it worsened as the feature creep increased in severity.

• GNOME; enough said.

Understandable; it just sucks that most casuals have to deal with the bullshit soyd created without knowing what Linux was (and is) like without it mucking up everything about it.
