Imagine if every npub was its own mint and relay by default.
Discussion
That would be kind of baller and solve a lot of issues.
Yeah, I am proposing the issuing "id" of a proof could be an npub, rather than something that has to mapped to a urI REST api
wouldn't a 1:1 mint-to-user ratio defeat the purpose?
To be honest this feels exactly like everyone trying to integrate NFTs. Or AI.
Maybe a little bit of "we like this hammer, hit everything like like it's a nail" going on. Not to say I don't think it's a good hammer, cause I believe it is. But still... not everything is a nail.
it really isn’t a good hammer either for 50% of things
to be honest, the cashu protocol has been having the same issues with incompetent design as with some nostr NIPs
Who runs the node(s) backing the mints? This is the more important question users need to consider.
Exactly. That is the question. I think the question can be collapsed to which npub(s) to trust whether for posts and/or tokens(ecash)
too much overhead to be a default, but it could be an opt-in feature. you could pick any participating npub as your ecash bank
nut sack appears to working towards relays having the option to be mints
