Graphene OS is great but it can only be flashed to Google Pixel phones.

It’s possible to buy a Pixel and turn it on without needing to enter a Google account upon startup and the process to flash Graphene is extremely easy to do.

The easy webusb flashing requires Google Chrome last I read. Not Chromium, Brave or Firefox. Not Chrome flatpak or snap. Chrome from Google giving it same privileges as native system apps.

Depends how much you're willing to sacrifice and what your primary use of the device is.

If you're OK giving money to #Google and want (mostly) everything to work, then a Pixel with a degoogled OS like GrapheneOS, DivestOS, CalyxOS on the security express release channel.

If, on the other hand, you want to fund long term solutions, are willing to tinker and do not want to pump more money into Google, #Linux mobile is the way to go: #LibertyPhone from #Purism running PureOS, #Mobian or #postmarketOS or #FLX1 from #Furilabs running FuriOS (Droidian).

Thanks!

Why do you suggest that GrapheneOS is not part of a "long term solution"?

Google control of AOSP. Sort of like a Chromium based browsers...

That being said I do love and appreciate what both GrapheneOS and Brave are doing.
