However, the lightning network is still a young technology so self custodial options have their drawbacks right now, the main one being they are unreliable to receive payments when your phone isn’t on. The current best practice, in my opinion, is to use wallet of Satoshi to receive payments, then after you accumulate enough sats that you would be upset to lose, transfer it to a self custodial lightning wallet like Phoenix.
