I remember when nostr:npub12z8jsett3k6rv9fa2guau5p540qr2xuvjzkr8e432mglafjt99sqkw9zmx was flagged by primal constantly for her posts! I guess we gonna fail if such approach will exist! He is not the bot, he is not spamming, yes he is trolling and he is saying niga words or he hates jews, I don’t think that he should be not visible and censored ! Bad precedent we have !

That approach will always exist. The real question is about free market and value. If you think those things should not be blocked, I am sure a client and a relay that don't block those is going to appear and take over all the clients with filters today (which is all of them).

I think clients without filters have existed and failed miserably. Turns out people don't like seeing those things and just migrate to clients that offer better content out of the box.

The free market will choose the winners.

In the end, you can always say what you want on Nostr. But that doesn't trump the reader's right of choosing the best content.

You all are dependent on opensats, jack, VCs - so I guess your point about “the fee market” doesn’t exists here ! Nostr will never see new users and gonna loose because it’s small and the censorship precedents are being pushed between the devs and since it’s small network and few people working on it the coop between few of you might kill it and you will end up like a woke bluesky! Basically nostr is already one step there !

The point remains. Even with all the money from open sats, there should be a client that takes over if people want to see that content.

Remember, the money is also part of the free market. It's his private money. There is no government or dictator forcing you to use the current filtered apps.

I have spoken to many of them. They are not here because there is no content for them. No one has ever said that they are not joining because of the choice of default filters
