I don't understand how these events are encrypted. So again, my non-technical brain is hitting a barrier.
But to your point, maybe they're just badly implemented and that's why I don't use Nostr Dm's rn.
It's not about NOT communicating on this communication protocol. It's about being selective of what you should communicate on this open protocol.
