just to play devil's advocate for no reason lol. Isn't zbd just using the nostr protocol? That is something the protocol allows. Maybe other companies will use nostr similarly to create a social / community aspect within their own apps?

It rubs people up the wrong way cos it seems to go against the principles of nostr.

Are zbd doing this gated community to cover their own backs as they are a company, so they are somewhat legally responsible for the content on the social nostr-ish feed on their app?
