GM frens. This morning a pleb dm me and asked if I meant to zap them badges. First of all, I have no stinkin’ badges. Secondly, I wouldn’t know how to zap one if my life depended on it. Thirdly, are any of you getting zapped badges by me?

I’ve never understood the fascination with badges. I don’t know much about them but they feel like some sort of NFT spin-off
they aren't since they're not fungible. they're just a fun toy to play around with. Or, like on zapstream, to give them out to your channel supporters just like twitch affiliates do. I think Damus purple users also receive one to indicate their financial support for Will's work. Basically badges are a nostr NIP just like the emotes and nobody is bitching bout the emotes.
This is a good intro to them. Thank you! I have no problem with badges and with this explanation is sounds like a good way to show honor for certain nostr activities 🔥🤙🏻
