Dilma, former president of Brazil and current president of the BRICS bank, will meet today with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, within the framework of the Russia-Africa summit.

Dilma proposed to lend money to Putin through the BRICS bank, a bank whose cash is made up of money from member countries of that forum, including Brazil, but the Brazilian proposal was barred by, believe it or not, Xi Jinping's China.

Xi Jinping said no to the Brazilian loan proposal, citing fears of sanctions from the US and its allies, as he knows that any loan to Russia will be used by Putin to finance his invasion of Ukraine.
