yeah, it's possible that the angels he contacted were watchers

Not the watchers directly, as I think they are on lockdown, or . . . were.

And it was definitely not an angel. "Angel" a job name, not a creature type.

there was a remarkable number of important and true things they told him tho. i mean, barely synthetics had even appeared and they said "don't mix them with natural fibers." i remember my uncle, a redhead, lol, telling me about this rule in mormonism. from the fact that natural (especially protein based hairs) and synthetics generate static electricity i kinda grasped this idea it might not be wise. hard to avoid tho. personally i would prefer to only wear cotton, hemp, wool and leather. none of these have electrostatic friction effects in any combination.

i never looked deeply into it but i have a lingering urge to read the book of mormon. just because i already read two versions of enoch, two extended versions of genesis, and i've understood enough to know that there might be some gems in that book. i expect it to be mostly repetitive shit tho. i read the qur'an twice and it was extremely repetitive, and actually not that long a read. about, i think, 150 pages, so, a couple days read.

speaking of the qur'an tho... there is one section that is bizarre, talking about the moon splitting in two.

i'd love to just sit down for a few months with a pile of these things and just read over them all and take notes about what things i notice in them.

Oh, I think you should, then. I haven't yet. I am still working through a lot of other things, and I have very little desire to dig into that, but if you want to I think you should. I have no doubt that there are hidden gems in it.

That reminds me that I have to remember to NOT laugh right in the face of the couple of young LDS dudes that are "on mission" in the area because they look straight out of The Book of Mormon (the musical).

haha that's such a great movie tho lol. man, trey and matt are legends truly. i absolutely loved their dressing down of scientology.

oh yeah don't forget, Orgazmo featured mormons too. those guys obviously did a lot of research into the ins and outs of that religion also.

one of my other favourite spirituality/religion scholar follows, nostr:npub12h6h8dj3ale4rk6hkpsp6gcz9kx9xtucyhd3pftn86lnn0j25gdsa9qpsf also he never saw Life of Brian before, and was amazed at the depth of meaning they expressed in it. it really is an interesting movie, too, i mean, once you know about the jewish general bar gokho or whatever the name exactly was, and the stuff about trans ideology and all the socialist idiocy they depicted. which was not far from historical record, either. and still, 2000 years ago the same goddamned bullshit.

It was a very good movie! Its definitely in the top ten movies I've watched this year. (Its the fourth movie I've watched this year)

It made some good points, which I now can't remember, while bringing some levity to a subject which is usually way too serious. I liked it.
