Maybe instead of using "sats" we should have stayed in the "0.00000001 bitcoins" world. That was at least cool to give people the impression that a bitcoin is this super valuable asset.

I agree it would have been better, but we have to live with Satoshi's choices. Changing the name of the "bitcoin" unit at this point is impossible.

No you will see Bitcoin extend beyond 8 decimals through off chain mints.

Gonna be a lot easier to back a mint 1:1 at the Sat level and fractionalise that a further 8 decimals
