Exactly, I agree. And a lot of what passes as normal here will definitely be considered as hate speech elsewhere. So this notion of 'dealing with it' is also quite confusing.

We don't "deal with it" here at all. We just ignore it. Every client has a block feature too. Nostr is the correct answer. Censorship is problematic. Especially when the definitions of hate speech and misinformation are always changing.
What worries me is that our Nostr devs may find themselves getting sued in an EU or UK court for not implementing censorship. They're already threatening to fine Twitter. They don't know about Nostr yet but it will get their attention if it grows.
I'm just saying the 'it' of the it lol... Probably isn't the same as what is covered elsewhere, is all. A lot of what is called hate speech on eg bluesky wouldn't raise any objections here. In fact it may be celebrated. It's just curious what the It is here and what It isnt lolol
