When asked about my diet, I typically describe that it’s 80%+ animal-based, I usually get the response “Oh so you just eat a lot of protein!”
Yeah I eat plenty of protein, but that’s not exactly the point.
If replaced all of my animal-based foods with the protein-equivalent of some whey protein powder, I can guarantee I wouldn’t even remotely get the same results.
The point is that the protein (and many many other nutrients) I’m eating is coming from properly raised animals fed a species appropriate diet so nature has packaged all of the nutrition in a dense and bioavailable way that is compatible with the human body.
