People think vibecoding started when Karphaty named it, the models were good enough for some vibing from at least gpt-3.5 (at least thats roughly the time when i remember doing manual vibing by copy pasting stuff from chatgpt with the trick of telling it always to wrap everything in a bash script so you dont need to manually deal wtih anything besides execution and c/p the results)

It’s been way more than a year. I saw people coding with AI in 2023 and I personally started in September 2024 when o1 was released. The only thing that’s turned one year is Karpathy giving the process a name that stuck
the term vibe coding was coined on February 2, 2024 by Andrej Karpathy. im specifically talking about the term.
Shakespeare is brilliant. I have to say. Enabling an application ecosystem of vibes on Nostr was a brilliant move.
I think we've only begun to see what that means for personalized user experience, or how it will change the way we build remixable infra to support it
I remember seeing the first hints of this in the indie web, grease monkey, microformats, atompub, etc. in the late 2000s. It feels like the time has finally come.
