Do schools close on snowy days in Japan?

I have not heard of any school closures due to snow in Tokyo, but in heavy snowfall areas, sometimes schools may be closed☃
That's a bit sad -- when will kids make ☃️??
Here, if it rains heavily, schools are closed ,because many kids either walk to school or are dropped on motorbikes and it's risky during heavy rain.
Kids make snowmans before or after school.
In summer, Typhoons can cause school closures in Tokyo and surrounding areas🌀
