Working on orange pilling me mum. I think it's working. She understands the monetary value and store of value properties, but is afraid of being able to liquidate for cash, which I explained is easy, if need be and of just not understanding the wallet setup generally.

#bitcoin ers, what is a good wallet for someone looking to just buy and hold with a small likelihood of needing to sell soon? I was thinking Coldcard, but I don't have any personal experience.

She's relatively tech savvy, but I understand why Bitcoin is a bit of a foreign concept. We've all been there.

You should keep enough cash on hand for unexpected emergencies. Only after that, make small, regular contributions that you aren't afraid you might need to exchange for fiat.

She's already going to be doing that.

I think I'll have an easier chance getting a one time lump from her instead of having to deal with setting up a DCA.

For beginners I've been recommending the BitBox02.

Very easy out of the box, with advanced settings tucked away.
