Can't help but also bring up a social dynamic between our product testers and devs. I engage in a similar behavior but I'm uncomfortable with the social implications of this dynamic. Definitely a line between engagement with devs/bug reports and co-opting a thread for your own motives, but at least I haven't found where that lies.

All I can do is just focus on being courteous with my feedback and suggestions, even if potentially intrusive.

Some developers don't like bug reports and find testers irritating. That's not news to anyone who has worked as a tester.

Testers will go where they are wanted. And they will then promote those devs to others.
