Looking good. I think the mulch initially needs more water, but it's much better for holding the moisture in after that.
It looks like you have a thistle problem like I do. There seems to be no stopping them coming up through.

👍good to know, will give them a proper soaking
Pulling the thistles was hard last year but they're coming out now instead of snapping off... not sure what to do about the ones in the paths though!
