By a vote of 314 to 291, Parliament has passed a bill legalizing assisted dying in England and Wales.

The End of Life (Terminally Ill Adults) Bill will now proceed to the House of Lords for further scrutiny.

The legislation would allow terminally ill adults, with a prognosis of six months or less to live, to receive medical assistance to end their own lives.
