Love to see that you’re bringing up the Soviet Union and agree that America “won” in a very large part by burying the Soviets in debt via the arms race.

Where I would differ with your analysis is that back in the 80s America had a more workable fiscal position. Not anywhere close today. I’m also of the mind that China recognises that there’s a debt issue and is actually trying to address that issue. I have no idea if it will work, but action is being taken.

America, on the other hand, continues to ignore that there’s even a problem and it worsens each and every day.

The real question is which falls first. China or America? We might not need to wait much longer to find out.
