Same boat. I didn’t tag him on my post about his account because I cross referenced the npubs he’s verified and saw he hadn’t posted in 4 months. I’m all for verification regardless, but after his Twitter got taken, this is even more sketchy for a new Nostr account to show up.

Very sketchy. And if you look at this one saying his Twitter is hacked, it’s been around at least 5 months, so it makes me think this one could have been the reason he tweeted that in the first place. 
Great point. Until I have hard verification, I’m safely assuming this is not Pete.

-npub cross reference from a separate account he’s associated with like BM (this one is a stretch as far as ability as well as actual verification, but I def think it’s warranted in doing considering he’s [the scammer, not pete] posing a threat.)
It’s possible and easy to do.
