I randomly learned that a new volanic island was formed last month near Iwo Jima (Japan) after an underwater volcano erupted for over a month.

This is an image from the Copernicus satellite, side by side with an image from Google Earth.

I caught a video about this a few weeks ago. It's pretty cool. The first island washed away but this second one seems to have stuck. Its also worth noting iwo jima has risen a few meters since the 40's.

Iwo Jima is the top of a volcano, its magma chamber is refilling hence the expansion and the fumorle vent that's built this new island . Plant earth 🌎 is a pretty cool place to live 😎 🤣
