I am curious what the take is over on this site about deliberate misinformation. Over on the “free-speech“ site there’s a bunch of blue checks getting engagement by claiming that the wildfires have been started by climate change activists. This strikes me as not helpful at all. Is this just collateral epistemic damage?

Those fires were started by the government. If you think it was natural than you dumb as fuck

I literally don’t know if you are serious rn. I mean the problem with a “free speech” site is it typically gets populated with crazy folks so the information you find is worthless.

It’s amazing that there are people who believe the government is a bumbling bureaucratic, incompetent, clumsy organization, yet at the same time capable of exercising Palpatine level conspiracies.

Why didn't mansions burn bro they showed a drone view on YouTube and the mansions the fire looked like they were stop in it tracks.. keep believing your government they have your back.. stop being so blind to the youth..

secluded mansions don't burn down because there is nothing around them that can catch fire.

So these ppl are lying

I think a lot of people here are fine with it. As in, more speech is the answer for misinformation. And if it strengthens their worldview and weakens their enemies'

Right but clearly more speech is not the answer for misinformation especially when social media is involved

Definitely not. I actually like X's Community Notes, although they could be influenced too.
