A little bit of Internet history — prior to 2004, the way you registered a domain in the .ng TLD was to write a zone file and send it via email to a dude named Randy Bush.

“I’m a stickler for correctness. That’s my job.”

That’s who Randy Bush was. I remember having a few registrations rejected due to some error in the submission. I always wondered if he had a script doing this validation for him or whether he did it manually.

I tried to find one of those submissions but those emails have long been deleted ☹️
