In the frantic pace of the global conference scene Pacific Bitcoin seems like ancient history already. Since then scenes Amsterdam and Lugano have come and gone, now there is Bali, before long will be Argentina, El Salvador, Nostrasia, Nostrville, an on and on. But I digress…

I'm just an anon bitcoin pleb that’s used to going it alone. Been that way for years. I don't really have any IRL friends who get bitcoin and I've never been much of an evangelist, even for the things I deeply believe in. If anyone brings up the topic I’m happy to give my 2 sats but that rarely happens these days. I tried to orange pill a few friends years ago to no effect and in the end, “If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.”
So when circumstances allowed me to attend Pacific Bitcoin I was stoked. Shout out to nostr:npub1j0shgumvguvlsp38s49v4zm8algtt92cerkwyeagan9m6tnu256s2eg9a7 for the ticket hookup. It was my first time attending a bitcoin conference and I'd never been around so many bitcoiners before, so many digital avatars manifested in real life. Many voices that have been planting thoughts and ideas in my brain for years through podcasts, twitter, books, and youtube were there in the flesh–real people after all.
In the whirlwind of it all I didn’t sit through many of the talks in person, preferring to spend my limited there checking things out on the floor and chatting with folks. Shout out to nostr:npub1hk0tv47ztd8kekngsuwwycje68umccjzqjr7xgjfqkm8ffcs53dqvv20pf who I didn’t really know about before. I caught most of his talk and you should too. I haven’t gotten his book yet but I look forward to reading it at some point in the future.
