War (physical power competition) is a completely natural process that virtually all animals utilize in order to establish their intraspecies dominance hierarchy. It has been evolved as a highly effective means of allowing resources to be vectored towards its strongest and most intelligent members with the overall imperative of making life itself more capable of countervailing the entropy of the universe. The only real problem here is that we've developed weapons that are so destructive it could potentially make the power competition useless if we are unable to determine clear winners and losers.
