According to a 2019 report from the Pew Research Center, for example, 80% of Twitter users say they primarily use the platform to consume content, while only 20% say they primarily use it to post content.
Similarly, a 2020 report from Hootsuite found that while there are over 3.6 billion social media users worldwide, only about 24% of them are active content creators.
